Intimacy with All Things

Wait... Should I work with a Coach, Consultant, or Therapist? And what’s the difference?

Therapy is generally a resource if you need to heal, recover, and understand past trauma so you can return to a healthy baseline.

Coaches facilitate lasting change in their clients. Once you are at a healthy baseline, and if you desire something more future-facing & action-orientated, coaching might be a better option.

In consultancy, a consultant will tell the client what to do. And It is up to the client to make any proposed changes.

Overall, our intent isn’t to tell you, “If you’re dealing with X, you should seek out a Y.” Because at the end of the day, it's up to you to define what will best serve your needs.

How Does Coaching Work?

Coaching provides the ongoing support and accountability required to make lasting change in your life. Ideally, you will meet with a coach regularly so that you can focus on the work need to see your desired results.

Coaching involves conversations, exercises, and practices designed to help you develop the behaviors that allows for a new ways of being.

Over time, conditioned behaviors and beliefs became deeply-rooted patterns. These patterns are just that, patterns, they even served you to a degree. Hey, they have gotten you this far right? But, at the same time these behaviors are now holding you back from developing further and getting the results you now deeply want.

We honor your current way of being so that it can be integrated into your new way of being

That is what coaching can be for you.

Integral Coaching™

Integral Coaching™ takes into consideration the world of your interior and your exterior. It assembles resources and builds on capacities available to you from not only your cognitive but also your physical, emotional, social, spiritual intelligence.

The modalities of Mindfulness Practice, The Ennegram, and Authentic Relating are under the umbrella of the Integral Coaching™ model. And will be the focus of the coaching we do together.

  • Mindfulness is maintaining awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment on a momentary basis. It is also paying attention to thoughts and feelings without judgment.

  • The Enneagram is a personality typology system that attempts to describe human personality into a number of interconnected personality types and sub-types. All with their unique motivations and fears.

  • Authentic Relating is the practice of sharing one's thoughts, feelings and emotions with others. The practices of Authentic Relating begins with the creation of an intentional, safe space and supported by clear boundaries.

Why is it important to focus on all three modalities? What if I removed one?

  • Mindfulness and Authentic Relating alone is common and can be a strong duo. However, it is missing the looking inward at our patterns and finding opportunities for long-term growth.

  • Enneagram and Authentic Relating alone is less common, and the outcome can sometimes be judgment for self and others; and/or increased attention to either the past or future.

  • Mindfulness and Enneagram alone is a great start, but then it is missing the relational piece. The relating to others in the space of the unknown is where the magic happens.
